Encinitas has multiple water providers: Olivenhain Water and San Dieguito Water District. This page provides information about Olivenhain Water.

The Olivenhain Municipal Water District (OMWD) provides water for about 85,792 residents living in the Encinitas area, California. Established in 1959, the Olivenhain Municipal Water District purchases all of its water supply from SDCWA. SDCWA, in turn, buys its water from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD). MWD imports its water from two sources: Colorado River water from Lake Havasu to Southern California and Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay-Delta in Northern California to Lake Skinner in Riverside County.

As you can see, Olivenhain Water received the best-possible grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were better than the Public Health Goal and most other water providers we've analyzed.
