Quartz Hill has multiple water providers: Quartz Hill Water and Palm Ranch Irrigation District. This page provides information about Palm Ranch Irrigation District.

The Palm Ranch Irrigation District provides water services to about 5,474 residents in the Quartz Hill area of Los Angeles County, California. Founded in 1931, Palm Ranch Irrigation District utilizes groundwater from District-owned wells tapping from the underlying groundwater basin and surface water purchased from the Antelope Valley East Kern Water Agency (AVEK), which treats water from California Aqueduct. While the wells are disinfected with chlorine to kill germs, additional coagulation and filtration processes are performed on two wells, in addition to flocculation for the surface water source. The Palm Ranch Irrigation District primarily supplies groundwater and uses surface water occasionally during summer months or peak periods.
