The City of Peabody Water, under the City Public Services Department, provides water for about 52,474 residents living in the area of Peabody, Massachusetts. Established in 1916, the City of Peabody Water Department is currently obtaining its supply via purchase directly from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), a public water and sewer services wholesaler, which draws water from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from Ware River can also add to the supply when the demand arises.
