The San Lorenzo Valley Water District supplies water to about 21,145 residents in the Boulder Creek area in Santa Cruz County, California. Founded in 1941, San Lorenzo Valley Water District collects surface water from streams in remote areas within the District's protected watershed and groundwater from three separate wellfields - Quail Hollow Wellfield, Olympia Wellfield, and Pasatiempo Wellfield. Surface water provides the bulk of the District's drinking water between November and May and up to 100% during periods of high stream flow. The water is supplemented by groundwater during the period of low stream flow.
