The Seal Beach Water Department provides water for about 25,561 living in the Seal Beach area, California. Established in 1915, the Seal Beach Water Department collects water from a blend of groundwater pumped from three local wells by the City of Seal Beach Water Department and water imported from Northern California and the Colorado River by the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) via the MWD. Groundwater comes from a natural underground aquifer that is replenished with water from the Santa Ana River, local rainfall, imported water, and the Groundwater Replenishment System.
