The Somerset Borough Municipal Water Authority provides water services to about 6,309 residents living in the Somerset area of Pennsylvania. The Somerset Borough Water Department collects water from six wells (Well #1, #2, #3, #7, #8, and #9) located at Shafer Run Road, 278 Beck Road, and 3518 Coxes Creek Road in Somerset and treats it with chlorine disinfectant and fluoride additive. Additional water is purchased from the Somerset County General Authority Water System, whose water source is surface water from the Quemahoning Reservoir.
