Tacoma has multiple water providers: Tacoma Water, Parkland Water, Summit Water, and Washington Water Service - Artondale, view all. This page provides information about Summit Water.

The Summit Water & Supply Company, a member-owned, non profit corporation, and community water system provide water for about 16,000 residents living in Tacoma, the county seat of Pierce County, Washington. Established in 1923, the Summit Water & Supply Company System currently obtains its groundwater supply from four wells at three well sites, as well as a wholesale connection with Lakewood Water District. The sole source is from underground aquifers, which are made up of sediments deposited by the ancestral Nisqually and Puyallup rivers. The aquifers are recharged by local rainfall in the Clover/Chambers drainage basin, with some deep underflow recharge from the south Puyallup/Graham area westward to Puget Sound, including snowpack from Mt. Rainier.
