The Trabuco Canyon Water District (TCWD), a public community water system, provides water for about 13,659 residents living in the area of Trabuco Canyon, California. Established in 1930, the Trabuco Canyon Water District System is currently obtaining its supply from a blend of sources: imported wholesale surface water from the Colorado River; imported treated surface water from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC) or from the Baker Water Treatment Plant, which utilizes water from both MWDSC and from the Santiago Reservoir (Irvine Lake); and local groundwater from Trabuco Creek Wells.
