The City of Waltham Water, under the City Department of Consolidated Public Works - Water & Sewer Division, provides water for about 60,630 residents living in the area of Waltham, Massachusetts. Established in 1884, the Waltham Water Department is currently obtaining its supply from a surface water source via purchase directly from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). MWRA water comes from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from Ware River can also add to the supply when the demand arises.
