The Town of Wellesley Water and Sewer Division, under the Town Public Works Department, provides water for about 29,100 residents living in the Wellesley area, Massachusetts. Established in 1881, the Town of Wellesley Water and Sewer Division currently obtains its supply from a combination of water sources: 68% comes from the local groundwater well supplies and 32% is purchased surface water from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). A very small portion, less than half a per cent, is received from Natick Water System to supply the area on the western shore of Morses Pond.

Lead Report (2018)

B

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Wellesley Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Wellesley Water received an above-average grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were lower than most other water providers we've analyzed.
