The Winchester Town Water, a public community water system under the Town Department of Public Works – Water and Sewer, provides water for about 22,192 residents living in the area of Winchester, Massachusetts. Established in 1850, the Winchester Town Water System is currently obtaining its supply via purchase directly from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), a public water and sewer services wholesaler, which draws water from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from Ware River can also add to the supply when the demand arises.
