The City of Woburn Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Water, provides water for about 38,120 residents living in the area of Woburn, Massachusetts. Established in 1888, the City of Woburn Water System is currently obtaining its supply from a blend of sources: groundwater from five wells that pump from the underground aquifer within the Horn Pond area and treated at the Horn Pond Treatment Plant; and purchased surface water supplemented by the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA). MWRA is a public water and sewer services wholesaler, which draws water from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs, and Ware River water when the demand arises.

Woburn Drinking Water Quality

Consumer Confidence Water Quality Reports

At WaterZen, we review these reports and make the information available, in a concise, straightforward, and easy-to-understand way.

Lead Report (2020)

A-

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Woburn DPW? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Woburn DPW received the best-possible grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were better than the Public Health Goal and most other water providers we've analyzed.
