The City of Albany Water, under the City Utilities Department, provides water for about 87,029 residents living in the Albany area, Georgia. Established in 1838, the City of Albany collects water from a groundwater source, 32 separate but interconnected groundwater wells that utilize the four major aquifers, the Floridan (Ocalla), Claiborne, Clayton, and the upper Cretaceous.

Lead Report (2020)

B

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Albany Utilities? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Albany Utilities received an above-average grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were lower than most other water providers we've analyzed.
