The Blytheville Waterworks, a public community water system under the City Waterworks Division of the Utilities Department, provides water for about 16,293 residents living in Blytheville, the county seat and the largest city in Mississippi County, Arkansas. Established in 1911, the Blytheville Waterworks System currently obtains its supply from six wells in the Wilcox Group Aquifer. Each well is 1,500 feet deep. Three of these wells have a low-speed capacity of 750 gallons per minute and a high-speed capacity of 1,450 gallons per minute. The remaining three wells have a low-speed capacity of 1,400 gallons per minute and a high-speed capacity of 3,200 gallons per minute.
