The Lawrence County Regional Water District supplies water to about 7,469 residents living in the Portia area in Craighead, Lawrence, and Randolph Counties, Arkansas.  Lawrence County Regional Water District collects water from five wells that draw from Gunter Sandstone and Roubidoux Formation Aquifers and purchases additional treated water from Pocahontas and Northeast Arkansas Public Water Authority, which treat surface water from the Black and Spring Rivers.
