The Village of Lake Bluff Water supplies water to about 5,722 residents of Lake Bluff in Lake County, Illinois. The Village of Lake Bluff Water Department purchases water from the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency, an inter-governmental cooperative located at 200 Rockland Road in Lake Bluff. The water originates from Lake Michigan and is delivered to the Village's one million-gallon elevated water tower on Illinois Route 176, from which it is distributed across 39 miles of water mains to the customers. Before distribution, it undergoes several treatment processes, including coagulation, flocculation, fluoridation, and disinfection with chlorine to improve its quality. Lake Bluff Water Department has an Interconnect with the City of Lake Forest Water System for emergency supply.
