The Caterpillar Trail Public Water District supplies water to about 5,970 residents in the Germantown Hills Village and parts of East Peoria and Metamora, Woodford County, Illinois. Caterpillar Trail Public Water District utilizes groundwater from rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. The water is pumped to the water treatment plant, which uses a lime-softening process to treat water to a hardness level of 3.5 to 5.5 grains per gallon.
