The Village of Lemont Water Department, a public community water system under the Village Water System & Services of the Department of Public Works, provides water for about 17,000 residents living in Lemont, located in Cook, DuPage, and Will counties in Illinois. Established in 1833, the Village of Lemont Water Department collects water from five sources. Four deep wells namely: Well 3 located bank on the east side of State Street, Well 4 at the east side of Houston south of Schultz, Well 5 at the southwest of Lemont IL, Well 6 located at the southwest of Mt. Vernon Cemetery, and one shallow emergency well.
