The Mitchell Public Water District provides water services to about 4,787 residents living in the Mitchell area of Madison County, Illinois. Founded in 1962, Mitchell Public Water District purchases surface water from the IL American-Granite City and the East St. Louis Water Treatment Plants through Consecutive Connection Master Meters in three locations. The water originates from the Mississippi River and is treated with National Safety Foundation-approved chemicals before distribution.
