The City of Eau Claire Water, under the City Department of Utilities, provides water for about 66,060 residents living in the area of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Established in 1856, the City of Eau Claire Waterworks currently obtains its supply from a groundwater source 16 wells located in the City well field on Riverview Drive, which intercept water that is slowly moving in the ground towards the Chippewa River.
