The Hartland Waterworks provides water services to about 9,212 residents living in the Hartland area of Waukesha County. The Hartland Water Department collects water from five groundwater wells drilled into a shallow sand and gravel Aquifer and supplements it with fluoride. The department also adds chlorine and phosphate compound to the water at the pumping station to prevent bacteria growth and control chemical reactions.
