Columbus Utilities, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 5,173 residents living in Columbus in Columbia and Dodge counties, Wisconsin. Founded in 1896, Columbus Utilities System currently obtains its supply from three active wells, groundwater sources that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. Furthermore, the combined capacity of the two treatment plants is 2.5 million gallons, and the system also has two reservoirs and an elevated tower.
