The Village of Mt. Horeb Water supplies water to about 7,240 residents living in the Mount Horeb area in Dane County, Wisconsin. Founded in 1939, the Mt. Horeb Water Department collects water from four active wells (800 to 1395 feet deep) and operates storage reservoirs, two water towers, and approximately 44 miles of water mains. The Water Department distributes groundwater, which has about 21 grains of hardness or 353 parts per million and is fluoridated to promote strong teeth.
