The Village of Bensenville Water, a public community water system under the Town Department of Public Works - Utilities Division, provides water for about 20,703 residents living in the area of Bensenville, Illinois. Established in 1884, the Village of Bensenville Water System is currently obtaining its supply via purchase water from the DuPage Water Commission, which receives the treated water from the City of Chicago, Department of Water Management. The City of Chicago utilizes Lake Michigan, a surface water source, through its water treatment plants - Jardine Water Purification Plant and Sawyer (formerly South) Water Purification Plant.
