The City of Upland Water, under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 77,017 residents living in the area of Upland, California. Established in 1906, the City of Upland Water Department currently obtains its supply from a combination of three primary sources: groundwater from 20 wells that draw water from the Chino, Claremont Heights and Cucamonga Aquifers; surface water from the local San Antonio Canyon Water; and imported water purchased from the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) of Southern California.
