The Forest Park Water, a public community water system under the Village Department of Public Works - Water, provides water for about 13,982 residents living in the area of Forest Park, a village in Cook County, Illinois. Established in 1907, the Village of Forest Park Water System currently obtains its supply via purchase from the City of Chicago. The City of Chicago utilizes Lake Michigan as its source water via two water treatment plants. The Jardine Water Purification Plant serves the northern areas of the city and suburbs (including Forest Park), while the South Water Purification Plant serves the southern areas of the city and suburbs.
