The Golden State Water Company - South Arcadia, a subsidiary of American States Water Company, provides water for about 26,970 residents living in the Arcadia area, California. Established in 1929, the Golden State Water Company - South Arcadia currently obtains its supply from groundwater pumped from the Main San Gabriel Basin. The basin underlies the San Gabriel Valley from Alhambra to San Dimas. Also, the water system has the ability to supplement supplies with imported water from the Colorado River Aqueduct and the State Water Project (imported and distributed by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California).
