Layton City Water, under the operation of Layton City Public Works Engineering, provides water for about 76,691 residents living in Layton City area. Incorporated in May 24, 1920, Layton collects its supply primarily through groundwater from Delta Aquifer via City wells (Church Street, Hillfied, Fort Lane, Greenleaf, and Shop Well) and purchased water from Weber Basin Water Conservancy District (WBWCD).
