The Metropolitan Domestic Water Improvement District (MDWID/Metro Water) – Metro Main System, a domestic water improvement district, provides water for about 44,998 residents living in the area of Tucson, Arizona. Established in 1992, the Metro Water Improvement District – Metro Main System is currently obtaining its supply from a groundwater source, 25 active wells that pump water from the northwest portion of the Tucson Basin aquifer.
