The Northeast Yell County Water Association provides water services to about 6,125 residents in the Dardanelle area of Yell County, Arkansas. Northeast Yell County Water Association purchases water from the Danville Water Department, which receives water from Cedar Piney and Dale Scott Plants, and the Dardanelle Waterworks, whose primary water source is nine wells in the Quaternary System Aquifer. Water from Cedar Piney and Dale Scott Plants comes from the Cedar Piney Reservoir and the Petit Jean River. The Dardanelle Waterworks also buys water from the Tri-County Regional Water Distribution District, which in turn purchases from the City Corporation of Russellville, which obtains surface water from Huckleberry Creek Reservoir through Illinois Bayou and also buys from the City of Atkins, whose water originates from Gala Creek Lake. The water from all sources is disinfected with chlorine and contains a fluoride additive for healthy teeth.
