The Ripon City Water, a public community water system under the City Water Treatment and Distribution Division of the Department of Public Works, provides water for about 16,292 residents living in Ripon, a city located in San Joaquin County, California. Established in 1945, the Ripon City Water System currently obtains its supply from five groundwater sources, primarily wells that pump from the Stanislaus River. Ripon Water used to have seventeen wells but currently only 5 are active, Wells Nos. 3, 7, 10, 13 & 18 while the remaining 12 wells are either inactive or destroyed.
