The City of Rolling Meadows Water Division, under the City Public Works Department, provides water for about 24,099 residents living in the Rolling Meadows area, Illinois. Established in 1955, the City of Rolling Meadows obtains its supply from a surface water source, Lake Michigan, via purchase from the City of Chicago through the Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (NSMJAWA). Should a disruption of water flow from NSMJAWA occur, the City of Rolling Meadow’s water system includes four deep wells, emergency generators, and an interconnect with the Village of Palatine to ensure an uninterruptible supply of water.

Lead Report (2020)

A

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Rolling Meadows Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Rolling Meadows Water received the best-possible grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were better than the Public Health Goal and most other water providers we've analyzed.
