Sparta Waterworks is a public community water system under the local government Department of Public Works that provides water to about 9,522 residents living in Sparta, a city in and the county seat of Monroe County, Wisconsin. Founded in the 1960s, Sparta Waterworks System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily six wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. Additionally, the depth of the wells ranges from 165 feet to as deep as 300 feet.
