The City of Spring Valley provides water services to about 5,582 residents of Spring Valley in Bureau County. Water sources include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. Spring Valley Water Department pumps water from two wells into its Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant, which treats water through filtration, softening, pH adjustment, disinfection, and fluoridation processes to improve the quality. The Plant produces 2.16 MGD of potable water.
