The Village of Glen Carbon Water, a public community water system under the Village Department of Public Works – Water and Sewer, provides water for about 12,800 residents living in the area of Glen Carbon, Illinois. Established in 1892, the Village of Glen Carbon Water System is currently obtaining its groundwater supply from the City of Edwardsville’s wellfield that draws water from the American Bottoms Underground Aquifer.
