Washington Township Municipal Authority, a public potable water and wastewater systems authority, provides water to about 5,705 residents living in Washington Township, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1971, the Washington Township Municipal Authority System currently obtains its supply from various groundwater sources. The system has five wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area: Wells 5 and 6 are located north of Route 16 near Blue Ridge Summit; Well 10 is south of Route 16 near Blue Ridge Summit; Brookdale Well and Hess Well are both located west of Old Forge Road north of Rouzerville. Additionally, other groundwater sources are springs: Bubbling Spring, Buena Vista Spring, and Sulpher Spring are located near Blue Ridge Summit south of Route 16, while Hoover Spring is on the west side of Rouzerville.
