The Village of Wilmette Water, under the Village Water Management Department, provides water for about 27,650 residents living in the Wilmette area, Illinois. Established in 1872, the Village of Wilmette Water Department currently obtains its supply from a surface water source, the Lake Michigan. This water is treated at the Wilmette Water Plant on the lakefront and pumped into the water City’s distribution system.
