The Canyon Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works - Utilities Division, provides water for about 15,305 residents living in the area of Canyon, a city in Randall County, Texas. Established in 1906, the City of Canyon Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, including groundwater from wells pumping from the Ogallala and Dockum aquifers beneath the district area, purchased treated water from the City of Amarillo which is groundwater from the Ogallala and Santa Rosa aquifers, surface water from Lake Meredith, and the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority’s (CRMWA) well field in Roberts County.
