Big Oaks Municipal Utility District, a public community water system managed by Municipal Operations & Consulting, Inc., provides water to about 6,300 residents living in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1983, the Big Oaks Municipal Utility District System currently obtains its supply from two sources: groundwater sources, primarily two wells that drill into the Chicot Aquifer underneath the area, and the Trinity River (Lake Livingston), a surface water source treated by the City of Houston.
