The Hillsborough County Water of HCPUD or Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department, South Central Distriict, provides drinking water and wastewater treatment service to unincorporated Hillsborough County provides water for about 373,436 residents living in the Lithia area. Established in 1834, the Hillsborough County Water collects water from a blend of groundwater, treated surface water and desalinated seawater purchased from (1) Tampa Bay Regional Groundwater Plant, (2) Tampa Bay Water Reg. Surface Water Plant, and (3) Tampa Bay Wellfields for Wholesale.
