Established in 1903, the City of Bradenton Water Department is currently obtaining its supply from a blend of purified surface water taken from the Lake Manatee Reservoir in central Manatee County; and seven ASR wells (Aquifer Storage Recovery) that pump ground water from the Floridan Aquifer.
