The City of Sopchoppy Water provides water services to about 10,405 residents living in the Sopchoppy area of Wakulla County. The City of Sopchoppy Water Department collects water from six groundwater wells pumping from the Floridan Aquifer, which is replenished by rainwater filtering through hundreds of feet of sand and rock. The water is disinfected with chlorine before it is supplied to the customers.
