The North Sumter County Utility Dependent District (NSCUDD), a public water, wastewater and reclaimed water service agency, provides water for about 44,517 residents living in the area of The Villages, Florida; particularly in the south of C.R. 466 and north of C.R. 466A. Established in 2010, the North Sumter Utilities System is currently obtaining its supply from a ground water source, wells that pump water from the Floridan Aquifer.
