The City of Belding Water supplies more than 600 million annual gallons of water to about 5,769 residents in the Belding area of Ionia County, Michigan. The City of Belding Water Department collects water from four groundwater wells, ranging from 110 to 179 feet deep, that draw from glacial aquifers. Two wells are located at Kenwood and Water Street, one at 500 Block Reed Street in the city's northeast, and the fourth at the east end of Demorest Field. The water is treated with phosphate and chlorine to control bacteria growth and fluoride to prevent tooth decay.
