The City of Manistee Water supplies water to about 6,200 residents in the Manistee area of Michigan. Founded in 1882, the Manistee Water Department collects water from four wells that produce groundwater from two natural aquifers - three wells are sited south of the city limits off Tamarack Street and one at Manistee Blacker Airport. The city operates two 500,000-gallon water storage tanks and treats water with chlorine and fluoride to prevent microbial contamination and promote strong teeth.
