The Township of Meridian Water, through the Township Public Works and Engineering Department, provides water for about 31,784 residents living in the Okemos area, Michigan. Established in 1842, the Township of Meridian Water currently obtains its supply via the East Lansing-Meridian Water & Sewer Authority (ELMWSA), a joint venture of the City of East Lansing and the Township of Meridian, which uses groundwater from 28 wells drawing from the Saginaw Sandstone Aquifer. The Authority also purchases water from the Lansing Board of Water and Light (LBWL) to supply the southern portion of Meridian Township.

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Meridian Township Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Meridian Township Water received the best-possible grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were better than the Public Health Goal and most other water providers we've analyzed.
