The City of Burnsville Water, under the City Department of Services – Water & Sewer Division, provides water for about 61,747 residents living in the area of Burnsville, Minnesota. Established in 1858, the City of Burnsville Water and Sewer is currently obtaining its supply from a combination of sources: surface water drawn from Kraemer Quarry; and groundwater from 17 wells that draw water from the Prairie Du Chien-Jordan, Mt. Simon, Tunnel City-Mt. Simon and Jordan aquifers.
