The City of Byron Water supplies water to about 6,312 residents of Byron in Olmsted County, Minnesota. Byron Water Department operates two wells and two water storage towers of over one million capacity. The wells are drilled 698 to 706 feet deep and they pump from the Jordan Aquifer. The water produced has 17 grains of hardness and is disinfected with chlorine, fluoridated, and treated with phosphate compounds for corrosion control before it is distributed to the customers.
