The City of Glencoe Water supplies water to about 5,607 residents living in the Glencoe area of Mcleod County, Minnesota. Glencoe Water Department collects water from three wells drilled 575 to 800 feet deep into the Cambrian Mount Simon-Hinckley Aquifer. The water is pumped to Glencoe's Water Treatment Plant, which treats, filters, and softens up to 1.8 million gallons of water per day to 3.5 grains of hardness. Before distribution across 37 miles of water mains, the water is fluoridated and disinfected with chlorine.
