Red Rock Rural Water System, a public community water system under the local governments, provides water to about 5,840 residents living in Jeffers, Amboy Township, and Cottonwood County, Minnesota. Founded in 1899, Red Rock Rural Water System currently obtains its supply from mixed sources: purchased water from Balaton, Lincoln-Pipestone Rural Water System, Saint James, and Windom, and its own groundwater sources, primarily seven wells that drill into the Quaternary Water Table Aquifer with depths ranging from 77 to 97 feet underneath the area.
